Is Doba a Dropshipper
What's the difference between Doba and a Dropshipper?
The term dropshipper is often used quite broadly. Because of this it can sometimes be confusing knowing what dropshippers really are. Sometimes we notice people refer to Doba as a dropshipper, in fact it's true to say we hear it quite frequently. Admittedly, even some of our own employees call Doba a dropshipper. So is Doba really a dropshipper? Well I guess it kind of depends on how you define it. Let's talk about what a dropshipper truly is.
You often hear the terms 'supplier', 'wholesaler', 'distributor', and 'manufacturer' for the purposes of this article we are going to clump them into one term, supplier, since they are closely related to one another. Simply stated a dropshipper is a supplier who will drop ship items for their clients, the people that actually run retail stores selling products to the public. A Dropshipper is the one who actually stores, packages and ships the actual products. By this definition Doba is not a dropshipper. In fact, Doba is not a supplier, wholesaler or distributor either for that matter. Doba is a company that has online software which allows online retailers (people looking for products to sell) to connect with several different suppliers (who provide drop shipping and therefore can also be called dropshippers). To see how our service works in detail try viewing our short tour, it is a really quick and helpful way for both suppliers and retailers to understand how our service actually works. If you just want to read (or skim if you're in a hurry) about it see our how it works page.
In slightly more detail, our site puts all the different dropshippers' catalogs in one place. Retailers can search, browse, and even filter through the entire catalog to find products they want or need to sell. And almost any dropshipper can setup a data feed to get their product catalogs on Doba's site. Another slick advantage with Doba's site is that retailers can also place their product orders through our site. This way retailers don't have to go to separate dropshippers' websites to place their customers' orders.

In conclusion, Doba is NOT a dropshipper. We are a service that helps connect retailers and wholesale suppliers together more efficiently than they can on their own. Dropshippers are the ones who actually store, package and ship goods right to the retailers customers. This saves the retailer a lot of expense and a lot of hassle.
