  • Turn on Your Customers' "Buy Now" Switch
       (part 3)

Last month we talked about making people's lives more enjoyable, and using that natural human desire as a way to market your product. This month, we continue our discussion on that same subject.

Ever wonder why illegal drugs fetch such a high price? It's not just because they are illegal, but also because they are designed to make people forget about the problems they suffer in the "real world", which fulfills a very strong need in many people's lives. And I should point out; even drug dealers must build a relationship of trust with their clients.

Last month, we talked about building trust, and how it is a very important, yet highly underrated and neglected, part of Internet marketing.

Look at video games, movies, fictional novels, television, booze, and yes; even sex-oriented products or services. All of these are designed to make people forget about the real world for a while.

People also hate to do things that are necessities of life. Shaving, cooking, bathing, commuting to work, grocery shopping, cleaning. While you can't make most of these things completely go away, you can make the tasks, or additional tasks related to doing these necessities, easier or more enjoyable.

For example: a self-cleaning electric razor. It doesn't make the hair on your face or legs stop growing, but now you don't have to waste extra time cleaning the razor afterward. Now, if only I could afford one of those self-cleaning razors, I'd give up the blade forever! The high price of a self-cleaning razor is reflective of the desire for such a convenience. People are willing to spend much more for the minor conveniences that make their life easier.

Ask yourself, "What does my product or service do, or what can it do, to make people happy; or at least relieve suffering in their lives?"

How does your product or service meet this need? Once you know the answer to that question, tell your potential customers how and why your product or service meets that need.

One more point about making life more enjoyable: What is the trick to convincing your customers that your product will make their life more enjoyable?

I'll give you a hint. Something I learned during that dark time in my life when I worked as a telemarketer:

...get them imagining how enjoyable or better life would be with your product.

Hallmark has really caught on to this concept with their commercials showing people who imagine how life would be if they had a card on hand for every occasion.

I nearly tripled sales of a product I sold online when I changed my web page to get people thinking about how their lives would change if they purchased that particular product from me.

The best part of all: My product was priced anywhere from 30% to 90% higher than similar products from competing sellers!

Why did consumers buy from me when it cost more than similar products from other vendors? Very simply, they came to believe that my product would change their lives in a way that somebody else's product couldn't.

Remember, truly great marketing will get consumers to buy your product or service no matter the cost.

Next month, we'll get more into the world of what causes consumers to fork over the green stuff.

This article discusses the advantages of pay-per-click search engine marketing. If you are interested in learning more about search engine marketing, you can inquire about Wholesale Marketer's new Search Engine Valet service by replying to this mailing with the subject line of "Search Engine Valet", or by clicking here.

Contrary to the widely held belief in the early '90's that if you built a website, "they" would come, Internet surfers will not come to your site in droves simply because it's there.

But thanks to the creation of pay-per-click search engines, any webmaster can start driving as much or as little targeted traffic to their site as they desire.

Pay-per-click search engines allow you to bid for ranking on relevant keywords. Now anybody can have a #1 ranking. With appropriately targeted keywords, you'll generally start receiving traffic the moment your keyword listings go live!

Bidding on top keywords can get expensive however, and can be intimidating for anyone that is new to the pay-per-click scene.

Fortunately, Wholesale Marketer has managed agreements with the industry's top players to give you free deposits into various pay-per-click accounts. Get your pay-per-click campaign in gear, and start receiving targeted traffic to your website today! Simply click the links below.
