September 2006

Greetings

Welcome to the September issue of the Doba Newsletter! If you are not a Doba member you can try us for 7 days absolutely FREE!

Protecting yourself from fraud and the scammers who want to rip you off!

We are pleased to announce that our sold-out teleseminar on Fraud Protection will be available for Doba members to listen to starting this Friday, September 8th by clicking here

Unfortunately, each year, the FBI receives complaints from retailers about Internet-related fraud and scams. That’s why if you sell online, you must protect yourself from fraud and the fraudsters who want to rip you off!

By listening to this archived teleseminar (which will be available for downloading this Friday, September 8), you will hear about:
  • The latest trends and threats in online fraud
  • How simple due diligence can save you money and time
  • Safe payment methods (and the not-so-safe ones too)
  • Doba's own efforts to mitigate fraud and protect you and your customers

Visit http://www.doba.com/education/training.html to download the teleseminar starting Friday, September 8.

Are You Unique?

by Stuart Lisonbee, Educational Specialist - Doba

Anyone with a little technical know-how and an Internet connection can open an online storefront and start peddling product, especially if the entrepreneur has access to Doba’s powerful product sourcing and drop shipping tools. But peddling product at bargain basement prices won’t ensure your success for three good reasons:

  1. Major competitors can undercut your prices.
  2. The lower your prices, the less you earn.
  3. The less you earn, the less time and money you have to invest in improving your business.

Search the Web for “sewing,” and you’ll find links to dozens of sites where you can purchase sewing supplies and equipment. When someone needs sewing supplies, they go to the store that offers the best prices, unless….

And that’s the catch… unless another site offers something customers want more. Poke around on some of the sewing sites, and you’ll find mom-and-pop operations that are out-competing the big craft stores. How do they do it? They offer their customers something more, something unique.
