Doba Announces Management Changes
President & COO, Blaine Nielsen, named CEO; Jeremy Hanks named Chairman of the Board
1 October 2007
Orem, Utah - Doba (www.doba.com), a leader in providing online product sourcing solutions for small to medium size retailers, manufacturers and wholesale suppliers, announced today the promotion of Blaine Nielsen to Chief Executive Officer. Nielsen, who has been with the company since March of 2005, and was previously Doba's President & Chief Operating Officer, succeeds Jeremy Hanks, Doba's co-founder and now Chairman of the Board.
"Blaine is widely regarded as a forward-thinking and intelligent business leader," said Hanks. "These qualities, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, strong business and operational acumen, and supply-chain and product sourcing know-how, make Blaine the perfect business leader to take Doba to the next level."
With today's announcement, Hanks, who had served as Doba's CEO since 2002, assumes the newly created title, Chairman of the Board. Nielsen, a Certified Public Accountant who earned a Masters degree and Bachelors degree of Accountancy from Brigham Young University, immediately assumes full profit and loss responsibilities for Doba, which last month was ranked the 23rd Fastest-Growing Privately Held Company in America by Inc. magazine.
Prior to joining Doba in the spring of 2005, Nielsen worked for Austin, Texas-based Dell, where he was responsible for conducting financial and operational audits of the computer giant's business segments and departments, as well as for providing operational and business control-related recommendations. Prior to Dell, Nielsen was a senior auditor at Ernst & Young where he supervised and performed financial audits of SEC-regulated and privately held companies.
"This is an exciting time to be at Doba and to be an online retailer," said Nielsen. "In the next few weeks alone, our year-long effort to align our software offerings to our customer segments will be realized, making Doba the natural product sourcing solution for both casual sellers and profit-driven online retailers." Nielsen went on to say, "Doba is in a incredibly strong position to restore competitive balance and sensibility to the online retail space. By serving the product sourcing needs of retailers who are often ignored by the sourcing community, Doba is delivering on its goal of establishing itself as the leading online product sourcing solution for SMB retailers."
