OREM, Utah - Amid soaring unemployment and other evidence of economic downturn, one Utah-based company is celebrating its best year ever. Doba (www.Doba.com), the Orem, UT, software company that builds and maintains Web-based inventory-on-demand solutions for e-commerce retailers and manufacturers and wholesale suppliers, posted a record profit in 2008 and is expanding its workforce as it adds new services in 2009.

Founded in 2002, last year Doba was recognized as one of the nation's fastest-growing and most innovative companies by indices such as the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 (#87), the Inc. 500 (#324 in Doba's second straight year on the list), and the MountainWest Capital Network Utah 100 (#7). (See links below.) In addition, while many other companies are dismissing workers and cutting budgets, Doba's expansion will continue. "We foresee an even greater future for our company," Doba CEO Blaine Nielsen says. "In January 2009 alone, we hired 10 new employees to help us capitalize our continued growth and customer excitement about our services."

Much of that excitement surrounds the company's new Product Sourcing API (application programming interface). Since its release last February, 10 new partner companies have completed their integration with Doba. "These 'Certified Integrated Partners,' including ShopSite, CityMax, Flashecom, Omni Site Builder, and InstanteStore, have made it very easy for their customers to populate their Web stores with Doba's database of 1.5 million drop ship products," says Nielsen. "Ecommerce providers who integrate Doba's supply chain platform within their own application will retain customers longer, gain an advantage over their competition, and develop new product offerings and revenue streams."
