New Scam Alert: Fake Remote Job Offers Impersonating Doba

We’ve been alerted to new scam activity involving individuals falsely claiming to offer remote job opportunities on behalf of Doba.

Two victims recently reported being contacted through Facebook ads, WhatsApp messages, and emails impersonating Doba. These scams direct applicants to a fraudulent website: dobatechi.com.

The scam includes:

  • Fake positions like “Online Research Analyst” and “Junior Data Entry Specialist”

  • Recruitment via Facebook pages like AirHire Recruitment

  • WhatsApp groups named “Sweetheart” led by individuals named “Sophia” and “Desmond”

  • Claims of easy tasks, same-day payouts, and 25% commissions

  • A requirement to register an account on a non-Doba site using a supplied “employee ID”

  • Attempts to coerce victims into depositing money to complete fake “special tasks”

Important:

Doba does not use third-party WhatsApp groups, random Facebook pages, or domains outside of doba.com for hiring. We never ask job applicants to deposit money, use shared login credentials, or complete tasks for commission through external sites.

If you’ve received messages like these:

  • Do not click links or provide personal information

  • Do not send money

  • Report the page or ad to Facebook/Meta immediately

  • Forward screenshots and all information to [email protected]

We are actively working with relevant platforms to report and shut down these fraudulent operations. Thank you to the individuals who came forward to protect others.
