When it comes in contact with mucous membranes — including the eyes, nose, or throat — it triggers an instantaneous response. It causes inflammation and immediate expansion of the capillaries. Along with intense pain, the eyes may swell shut and the respiratory system can be disrupted, causing difficulty breathing. And if you are wondering how long pepper spray lasts when sprayed on an attacker, it can incapacitate a person for up to 45 minutes, giving you time to get to safety and away from harm. Another important aspect of our pepper spray is the UV marking dye. The ultraviolet dye can help police track an attacker. Even after the attacker has recovered from the effects of the spray, the marking dye is still evident.

Personal safety is on everyone's mind. We live in a very active society and there are people going from one place to another virtually every hour of the day. There is also the need to feel safe as we are moving about. Hopefully you never find yourself in a situation that will require you to protect yourself from an attacker or assailant. Many people have made the decision to carry some sort of self-defense product or item that they can use in the event they encounter a dangerous situation. We know that crime happens everywhere, and no one is immune from the possibility of being attacked. One of the most effective ways to protect yourself is with pepper spray.

The concept was first developed in 1870 in Germany and was basically mace or teargas. Interestingly, pepper spray got its start in ancient China where ground-up cayenne was put into rice paper and thrown into an attacker's face during battle. In America, pepper spray was first used by mail carriers to avoid dog attacks and is now wildly used by police and civilians. It provides protection at a distance – creating a large 'pepper fog' which makes it virtually impossible for the attacker to avoid. It also can fire at a range of 25 feet, allowing you to keep a safe distance while protecting yourself. It is very practical and protects against multiple threats like attacks, robberies, and home invasions. It has been proven effective, can be easily carried, and is non-life-threatening. Self-defense pepper sprays have multiple uses. It will take some time for the marking dye to be removed from the skin, giving the authorities time to apprehend your assailant. You may ask, 'is there somewhere to buy pepper spray near me?'. Cutting Edge Products is a wholesale pepper spray distributor and can be a source for you in looking where to get pepper spray. Though pepper spray is legal in all 50 states, some states have restrictions. Please consult the laws of your state for proper purchase and use.
